Class 1 Explosive Materials Transport Vehicle is a special-purpose vehicle used for the safe transport of explosive materials, such as explosives, detonators, fireworks, and firecrackers. Designed to meet the rigorous requirements of Class 1 dangerous goods logistics, this truck for handling explosives has been built to ensure cargo containment, fire resistance and structural integrity.
This vehicle has a maximum payload of 10 tonnes and cargo-box length can be switched from around 3 to 9.6 metres, enabling operators to choose the box length that best suits their typical payload size and route needs. Depending on the regional regulations for dangerous goods vehicles registration, the vehicle can be registered to either be registered under a blue or yellow type of license-plate.
The vehicle is equipped with visible safety features, such as reflective red-and-white safety markings, a red horizontal warning stripe, dangerous-goods hazard placards, side and rear underrun-protection rails and an externally mounted fire extinguisher for quick response in case of emergencies. The front hazard placard shows that the vehicle has an explosive material classification of 1.1D/0048, which denotes the specific category that the vehicle is carrying.
